New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has caused a lot of "shock" and "dismay" in his inner circle and with his political allies after he endorsed Donald Trump as the GOP nominee in the 2016 presidential election.
Matt Katz, WNYC and New Jersey Public Radio reporter who covers Christie and author of American Governor: Chris Christie's Bridge to Redemption (Threshold Editions, 2016), talks about the fallout of his endorsement.
Katz pointed out that several former Christie backers have spoken out against his endorsement ("mostly women"). Meg Whitman, a Hewlett-Packard executive who supported Christie’s campaign, called it "an astonishing display of political opportunism."
